Here are your Week 6 NFL top waiver pickups to go along with your NFL betting lines for Week 6.
1) Marlon Mack, RB, Indianapolis Colts
After rushing nine times for 91 yards and a touchdown during Week 5 against the San Francisco 49ers, it appears that Indy's coaching staff wants to give Colts RB Marlon Mack a bigger piece of the pie. Mack missed multiple weeks with a shoulder injury but looks poised to take on at least half of the carries in Indianapolis as Father Time seems to have tracked down veteran RB Frank Gore. With Andrew Luck out until WHENEVER, the Colts are desperate for a ray of hope and the 21-year-old out of South Florida may be just what the doctor ordered.
2) JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers
Even with Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger struggling, rookie receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster has become the clear-cut second passing option in Pittsburgh. Martavis Bryant can’t get out of his own way, and the Steelers don’t seem interested in using Eli Rogers at all. Smith-Schuster is in the driver’s seat in the Steel City and has averaged five targets per game over his last four contests to go along with two touchdowns. Although he didn’t find the end zone during a humiliating loss to Jacksonville during Week 5, he still caught four of his six targets for 58 yards. The Steelers are on the road during Week 6 in Kansas City and the Chiefs have been very generous to opposing wide receivers.
3) Matt Breida, RB, San Francisco 49ers
Don’t look now, but all the dire predictions regarding 49ers RB Carlos Hyde seem to be coming true. The coaching staff has made no secret of the fact that they DO NOT LIKE Hyde and that might be the reason that rookie running back Matt Breida out-snapped him during a Week 5 road game against the Colts. Breida got a season-high 10 carries in Indy that he converted into 49 yards to go along with three catches for 22 yards. The 49ers have a BAD offense, but Breida could end up starting, not just because the head coach doesn’t like Hyde, but because Hyde is always one snap away from a serious injury. With all the injury news across the NFL, Breida is worth shot on your roster in PPR Leagues.
