ASL's Kevin Campbell looks at the Detroit Lions' fantasy assets, focusing on QB Jared Goff, RB Jahmyr Gibbs, and WR Amon-Ra St. Brown. These players form one of the most explosive offensive cores in the NFL and are vital pieces for dynasty fantasy football success.
Jared Goff: Veteran Stability at Quarterback
Jared Goff may not be the flashiest name in dynasty circles, but he's proven to be a rock-solid quarterback, especially in SuperFlex formats. Now entering his age-30 season, Goff remains a pillar of the Detroit Lions’ high-powered offense.
2024 Fantasy Production: Goff finished the 2024 season with over 4,600 passing yards and 37 touchdowns to just 12 interceptions. His chemistry with Amon-Ra St. Brown and his command of the Detroit offense have helped make the Lions a top-tier unit in the NFC. Despite not offering much rushing upside, his consistency and floor make him a reliable weekly starter in most league formats.
Dynasty Value: Goff is under contract and appears firmly entrenched as Detroit's starter for at least the next couple of seasons. While not a long-term elite option, he's the perfect veteran to pair with a developmental QB in dynasty. His value in SuperFlex leagues is solid, and while his trade cost remains modest, he’s a great “win-now” target.
Jahmyr Gibbs: Dynamic Dual-Threat Superstar
Jahmyr Gibbs flashed elite-level playmaking ability during his rookie season and in 2024, took the next step toward superstardom. With game-breaking speed and receiving prowess, Gibbs is a dream asset in dynasty formats—particularly in PPR leagues.
2024 Fantasy Production: Gibbs finished the year with 1,412 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns, while also catching 52 passes for 517 receiving yards and 4 more scores. His 272 total touches were proof of the trust placed in him by the coaching staff, and he rewarded fantasy managers with multiple RB1 finishes throughout the year.
Dynasty Value: At just 23, Gibbs is already a top-five dynasty RB. While David Montgomery continues to handle goal-line duties, Gibbs has carved out an Alvin Kamara-like role for himself. His long-term outlook is extremely bright, and he's a foundational piece on any dynasty rebuild or contending roster.
Amon-Ra St. Brown: Elite PPR Weapon
Amon-Ra St. Brown has now put together three consecutive top-tier seasons, solidifying himself as one of the most dependable wide receivers in dynasty fantasy football. Nicknamed “The Sun God,” his route-running, toughness, and chemistry with Goff make him virtually matchup-proof.
2024 Fantasy Production: St. Brown tallied 115 receptions for 1,263 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2024, finishing as the WR3 in PPR formats. His elite target share and red-zone involvement make him a weekly fantasy WR1, with very little volatility compared to other top receivers.
Dynasty Value: Still just 25, St. Brown is a cornerstone dynasty WR. He recently signed a lucrative contract extension with the Lions, keeping him in Detroit long-term. With continued high usage and consistency, his dynasty stock is as stable and high as it gets. Whether you’re building for the future or aiming to win now, Amon-Ra is a WR to invest in.
Honorable Mentions
Sam LaPorta, TE
It’s tough not to mention Sam LaPorta in any Lions-centric fantasy article. After a historic rookie campaign and another solid season in 2024 (60 catches, 726 yards, 7 TDs), he’s a top-ten dynasty tight end. If your league values TEs properly, he could be just as important as the main trio.
Isaac Teslaa, WR
A high-upside beast, Detroit traded up in the draft to select him in the third round. With rumors that the team is looking to move on from Jameson Williams, Teslaa could become the true WR2 in this offense. If he leaps in 2025, his dynasty stock could skyrocket.
David Montgomery, RB
Though aging, Montgomery still has a role as the bruising complement to Gibbs. He’s a strong RB3/FLEX option and a sneaky valuable stash for depth, especially in standard or half-PPR formats.
The Detroit Lions are one of the few NFL teams with multiple young, high-performing fantasy stars locked into long-term roles. Their offensive scheme is friendly to both pass-catchers and running backs, and the stability at quarterback only enhances their dynasty appeal.
In dynasty leagues, prioritizing long-term offensive continuity is critical, and few teams check that box better than Detroit. Goff, Gibbs, and St. Brown give you a unique opportunity to invest in proven production with sustained upside. While elite offenses often ebb and flow, Detroit’s foundation is rock-solid.
If you’re rebuilding, aim to acquire pieces like Gibbs and St. Brown—even at a premium. If you’re contending, Goff offers cheap QB2 upside, and Montgomery or LaPorta could be the final pieces to a championship puzzle.
The Lions’ offense is as stable and exciting as any in the NFL right now, and their top fantasy contributors reflect that. Jared Goff provides veteran security, Jahmyr Gibbs brings electric dual-threat ability, and Amon-Ra St. Brown is a top-tier receiver with elite volume and production. These players should be viewed as cornerstones in any dynasty roster strategy for 2025 and beyond.
