Here are my weekly lineup recommendations from the waiver wire based on players rostered in less than 50% of leagues and half-point PPR scoring. And incase your team is on the edge of getting into the playoffs, I threw in some Week 14 stashes so you can grab them before anyone else does.
Teams on bye: Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns, Green Bay Packers, Tennessee Titans
QUARTERBACKS
Tua Tagovailoa, Dolphins v. Giants (Yahoo 33%, ESPN 44%, Sleeper 43%)
Tua’s efficient and accurate style has led to 27 receptions in each of his last two games on 33 and 31 attempts. In Week 13 he should have plenty of room to work against the Giants’ secondary that is allowing 25.09 completions per game (5th worst).
Tyrod Taylor, Texans v. Colts (Yahoo 11%, ESPN 27%, Sleeper 23%)
Week 13 could be a bit of a roller coaster ride against the Colts who have allowed the 2nd most passing TDs per game (2.17) and have snagged 14 INTs. Fantasy managers will be counting on some bonus rushing yards and garbage time production.
Tayson Hill, Saints v. Cowboys (Yahoo 5%, ESPN 2%, Sleeper 12%)
It's been reported that Hill has been taking snaps with the first team offense so he could be in line for the start on Thursday night. Last season during his 8 games as the starter, HIll averaged nearly 35 yards rushing and scored 4 rushing TDs. He also averaged only 109 yards passing, so buyers beware.
RUNNING BACKS
New Bell-cow RBs ...
Alexander Mattison, Vikings @ Lions (Yahoo 51%, ESPN 33%, Sleeper 55%)
Mattison becomes the new feature back for the Vikings with Dalvin Cook heading to the IR.
Jamaal Williams, Detroit v. Vikings (Yahoo 39%, ESPN 46%, Sleeper 37%)
Williams just saw a season high 20 touches in Week 12 and Lions head coach Dan Campbell said “It’s hard to see D’Andre Swift playing in Week 13”.
Timeshares RBs ...
Matt Breida, Bills v. Patriots (Yahoo 23%, ESPN 5%, Sleeper 15%)
Way back last Thursday, Breida turned 11 touches into 55 yards with a touchdown while splitting time with Devin Singletary who’s 16 touches netted just 48 yards. If Zack Moss is scratched for a second game in a row then Breida might steal a bit more work from Singletary.
Boston Scott, Eagles @ Jets (Yahoo 19%, ESPN 17%, Sleeper 26%)
With injuries to both Jordan Howard and Miles Sanders, Scott logged a season high 51% of the snaps in Week 12.
Phillip Lindsay, Dolphins v. Giants (Yahoo 12%, ESPN 10%, Sleeper 18%)
In his first game with the Dolphins, Lindsay was second in rushes (12), yards (42), and snaps (20%) behind starter Myles Gaskin who rushed 16 times for 49 yards on 50% snaps plus 2 targets.
Week 14 Stash …
Chuba Hubbard, Panthers
RIP to another season for Christian McCaffery. Ameer Abdullah is also worth a look in full PPR formats.
WIDE RECEIVERS
Van Jefferson Jr., Rams v. Jaguars (Yahoo 49%, ESPN 42%, Sleeper 58%)
Jefferson has played at least 95% of the Rams’ offensive snap in each of the last 3 games in addition to seeing 7, 7, and 9 targets while only snagging 3 balls in each contest. There’s definitely more meat on the bone for the second year WR
DeVante Parker, Dolphins v. Giants (Yahoo 30%, ESPN 43%, Sleeper 49%)
If he returns from the IR, Parker faces the Giants who are giving up 13.5 catches per game to WR (7th worst) and a little over a TD a game (9th worst).
Boom-Bust WRs ...
Desean Jackson, Raiders v. Washington (Yahoo 5%, ESPN 2%, Sleeper 7%)
He needs just one big play.
Kadarius Toney, Giants @ Dolphins (Yahoo 47%, ESPN 41%, Sleeper 63%)
Outside of Sterling Shepard, who isn’t likely to play in Week 13, Toney is the only Giants WR to see 10+ targets in any game this season. The downside is that he might not play.
Week 14 Stash …
Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Packers
He has been targeted 9 and 10 times over the last 2 weeks.
TIGHT ENDS
Cole Kmet, Bears v. Cardinals (Yahoo 24%, ESPN 13%, Sleeper 27%)
Volume play v. a stout Cardinals TE defense. Kmet has played 84.2% of the Bear snaps this season and just saw 11 targets on Thanksgiving with Allen Robinson out. If Robinson sits again then Kmet has to see a similar volume, right? Right?
Foster Moreau, Raider @ Washington (Yahoo 1%, ESPN 1%, Sleeper 2%)
After Darren Waller exited the Thanksgiving Day matchup with a knee injury, Moreau saw 5 targets (good) but caught only 1 for 3 yards (bad). IF Waller doesn’t play then Moreau could be in line for more targets against a Washington pass D that is allowing 5.1 catches per game to TE (13th worst) and 58.9 yards per game (10th worst).
Mo Alie-Cox, Colts @ Texans (Yahoo 4%, ESPN 4%, Sleeper 7%)
While Alie-Cox has been drawing fewer targets than Jack Doyle of late, he’s still running about the same amount of routes per game and the Texans are one of the worst teams against TEs in 2021 allowing 56.9 yards per game (13th worst) and 11.2 yards per catch (13th worst).
Week 14 Stash …
Gerald Everett, Seahawks @ Texans
DEFENSE
Vikings @ Lions (Yahoo 17%, ESPN 14%, Sleeper 11%)
The Vikings have given up 30+ points in 3 of their last 4 matchups, but that should change against the winless Lions.
Chiefs v. Broncos (Yahoo 26%, ESPN 7%, Sleeper 11%)
Before their Week 12 bye the Chiefs had recorded an interception in 6 straight games and held their last 3 opponents to 7, 14, and 9 points.
Week 14 Stash …
Broncos v. Lions
Packers v. Bears
KICKERS
Michael Badgley, Colts @ Texans (Yahoo 41%, ESPN 12%, Sleeper 31%)
Badgley is 9 for 9 on field goals this season and 24 for 24 on extra point attempts.
Evan McPherson, Bengals v. Chargers (Yahoo 13%, ESPN 17%, Sleeper 9%)
McPherson is 15 of 18 on field-goal attempts this season and has hit from 50+ yards 7 times.
