Jeremy Langford and DeAngelo Williams – RBs – Bears and Steelers: I mention these two in the same breath only because both were discussed in my column last week and they should, for the most part, already be scooped up. If not, it’s time to go all in on which ever is available. Williams will be the starter for the rest of the year after showing us that he is capable of starting RB production, and Langford will continue to make an impact for the next few weeks as Forte recovers from injury. If you’re lucky enough to have either back on waivers, don’t hesitate to make a claim.
Dorial Green-Beckham – WR – Titans: After drawing comparisons to Randy Moss this offseason, DGB had a silent breakout on Sunday that should have owners watching his every move. Though he caught only five passes for 77 yards, the rookie receiver saw ten targets and shoed signs of a dominant future. At 6-foot 5- inches and 237 pounds, DGB has the tools to be a coverage nightmare for opposing defenses. He’s a fantastic lower order waiver claim this week as he may soon be in high demand.
Karlos Williams – RB – Buffalo: Are you kidding me? Williams made fantasy news by absolutely dominating Miami last week and he continues a phenomenal rookie season. On only nine totes, he racked up more than 100 yards in addition to two touchdowns. Many owners dropped Los after McCoy returned to the field, but there’s no doubt that he can still put up numbers in a two back offense, and that he offers even more value as a handcuff to a back who’s struggled in the last few seasons, Shady McCoy. Williams is well worth a bench spot due to his impeccable upside.
Devin Funchess – WR – Panthers: Like DGB, Funchess is more of a speculative add at WR that may pay huge dividends down the road. Cam Newton has been looking for a new top target since Kelvin Benjamin went down early this season, and Funchess may have finally emerged as that guy after a solid game in week nine. He is certainly the most physically gifted of Carolina’s receivers, but now seems to be developing the chemistry with his quarterback that is crucial for success in the passing game. Watch out for Funchess down the stretch if he heats up.
Vernon Davis – TE – Broncos: Remember how good Davis was when he played on a functional offense? Well, now he has the chance to do just that as Peyton Manning’s right hand man in a year when the aging QB looks as though he desperately needs a check down option. Owen Daniels has played well as of late, but Davis is the better athlete and receiver, and the fact that the Broncos traded for him means that they want him to play a role in the offense, so keep him on your radar.
Shaun Draughn – RB – Niners: Obviously, Draguhn’s role in the San Francisco offense will dramatically decrease when Hyde comes back from a stress fracture, but for now, the journeyman appears to have secured the starting role. He’s no superstar, but with a potential workhorse load coming his way, Draughn is a fantastic under the radar start as a bye week fill in.
