QB Matt Ryan, Falcons at Titans – “The Machine” projection: 21.4
In week six, Matt Ryan regained relevancy in fantasy news and bounced back from consecutive shaky performances in the two weeks prior. He threw for 295 yards and two touchdowns.
Week seven presents an interesting test for Ryan and the Birds as they travel to Nashville to face the Titans. The Titans are quietly surrendering the least amount of passing yards per game with 184. On the other hand, the Titans rank 28th in the NFL in rushing yards allowed.
It looks like another big night for the red-hot, Devonta Freeman.
RB Dion Lewis, Jets at Patriots – “The Machine” projection: 14.0
Patriots’ running back, Dion Lewis, was unable to accomplish much in week six. Despite rushing for an impressive 5.3 yards per carry, Lewis only saw four carries. On the contrary, his counterpart, LeGarrette Blount, had a great week. Blount rushed for 93 yards and scored two total touchdowns. Week seven doesn’t get any easier for Lewis. He’ll face a Jets defense that is surrendering 82.6 rushing yards per game. They’ve also only allowed just one rushing touchdown on the year. If Lewis is going to be successful this week, it will probably be through the air.
WR Julian Edelman, Jets at Patriots – “The Machine” projection: 19.1
Quietly, Pats’ wide receiver, Julian Edelman, is off to the best start of his career. Through five games, Edelman has tallied 40 receptions for 449 yards and four touchdowns. Even so, Edelman has a tough matchup in week seven against the New York Jets. Through five games, the Jets are allowing the least amount of receiving yards per game, 198.6.
The main reason Edelman is on bust watch is because of his ranking. As it sits, he’s projected to be the fifth highest scoring fantasy receiver. While it’s definitely possible, I just don’t see it happening with Revis and Cromartie in the secondary.
WR Antonio Brown, Steelers at Chiefs – “The Machine” projection: 20.7
Steelers’ All-Pro wide receiver, Antonio Brown, is expected to be the top scoring fantasy receiver in week seven. Although he is no stranger to ASL's fantasy updates, this may be a stretch…
In the last three weeks, he’s failed to haul in more than 45 yards in a single game. He also hasn’t found the end zone since week two.
This week, he’ll face a second-rate Chiefs’ defense who is surrendering 290.8 receiving yards per game. Even so, Brown has failed to develop chemistry with anyone other than Ben Roethlisberger, who has been a regular in injury sporting news. While Martavis Bryant thrived with Landry Jones last week, Brown was left the odd man out.
