We were mostly blessed with a fairly low-injury week. However, some managers may feel like they’ve lost everything (I may or may not be one of them). Wondering who this mystery player is? Wonder no more.

Let’s get right into the latest Injuries and Opportunities.

Quarterback

Injury — Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals (Q — Foot)
Opportunity — Jacoby Brissett
Kyler Murray briefly left last week’s loss (which we won’t talk about…) with an apparent foot injury. He likely underwent X-rays and did return, but he was limping the rest of the day. This is one to monitor. If Kyler can’t go, slightly downgrade Marvin Harrison Jr. and Trey McBride — not as much as you might think, since Kyler has been inefficient as a passer so far. Still, his absence adds hesitation and nudges the star pass catchers down a bit.

Running Back

Injury — Omarion Hampton, Los Angeles Chargers (IR — Ankle)
Opportunity — Hassan Haskins, Kimani Vidal
If I didn’t already spoil it, Hampton is the lone major fantasy injury this week. After what was reported as a low-grade ankle injury, the Chargers wasted very little time placing him on IR. With Hampton out a minimum of four weeks, Hassan Haskins and Kimani Vidal should both see work.
These are priority adds in deep leagues if you’re hurting at RB. Don’t expect weekly consistency on who “wins”; think Melvin GordonAustin Ekeler of yesteryear — the Temu version. Haskins should handle most between-the-tackles work and Vidal the passing-down work. Both profile as weekly RB3s.

Injury — Antonio Gibson, New England Patriots (O — Knee)
Opportunity — TreVeyon Henderson, Rhamondre Stevenson
Gibson is out for the season (torn ACL). Unfortunately, one player’s pain is another’s opportunity — and that’s Henderson. With Stevenson fumbling (again) last week, Henderson may finally see the touches we’ve been waiting for. Henderson moves to a low-end RB2 with upside; Stevenson is roughly the same if he keeps goal-line work. Long term, I expect Henderson to take over most of this backfield’s touches.

Receiver

Injury — Darius Slayton, New York Giants (Q — Hamstring)
Opportunities — Wan’Dale Robinson, Theo Johnson (TE)
Slayton was on his way to a strong Sunday before a hamstring injury. These typically take around two weeks for speed receivers, so unless better news emerges, that’s the early expectation.
The main beneficiaries are Wan’Dale Robinson and Theo Johnson. Johnson is creeping toward top-12 status at TE thanks to increased target share and red-zone usage. Robinson is almost the opposite; he won’t score many touchdowns, but in PPR he can offer steady flex value for needy teams.
