Dynasty Team Assessment – July 2025

Team Overview:
This roster is built with experienced, productive veterans at RB, a strong TE1 in Njoku for TEP scoring, and a few high-upside pieces at key positions. However, questions around long-term stability, lack of WR1 firepower, and aging depth in multiple areas suggest the team is stuck between win-now and retooling. Without a young elite difference-maker at WR, the path to a title will require savvy moves or a big step forward from one of the team’s younger players.

Strengths:

Running Back Depth & Flex Options:
This team is loaded with playable running backs in a PPR format:

  • Kyren Williams is a youngish RB2 with a strong 3-down role.
  • Alvin Kamara and James Connor are older, but still offer strong
    PPR floors when healthy.
  • Pollard and Dobbins offer upside as bounce-back candidates in
    their respective roles.
  • Sampson is a nice future stash with future breakout potential, especially now with the Quinshon Judkins situation.

Having this many playable RBs gives this team a weekly edge at the flex, especially in PPR. The question is how long that depth will hold with age and health volatility.

Tight End Advantage in TEP:

  • David Njoku was a major winner in 2024 and continues to be one of the cornerstones of the Browns’ passing game.
  • Tucker Kraft is a solid TE2 with TE1 potential.
  • Colston Loveland is a top-tier rookie TE stash and a valuable dynasty asset in TEP leagues.

This TE room is quietly one of this team's strongest advantages, especially with Njoku’s elite usage, Kraft's quietly excellent performance in 2024, and Loveland's future trajectory.

Quarterback Floor:

  • Brock Purdy is locked in as a safe weekly starter in 1QB leagues.
  • Jared Goff is a reliable streamer with strong surrounding weapons.
  • Michael Penix Jr. is a pure stash but a good one for dynasty purposes.

This team is solid enough at QB, and could trade one of those guys (preferably Goff due to age) for WR help and/or draft picks.

Weaknesses:

Aging RB Core:
While the RB depth is currently great, the future is a concern.

  • Kamara, Conner, and Mostert are all on borrowed time.
  • Pollard and Dobbins need to prove themselves in 2025.

Only Kyren and Sampson seem like long-term holds past 2025. While the others will most likely still be playing in the NFL after this year, their age presents a bit of a risk. This has already occurred to an extent with Mostert, now in Las Vegas to back up Ashton Jeanty, as his trade value may have already dried up completely. You also may be forced to flip one or two backs for youth soon or risk a dramatic collapse in 2026.

WR Lacks a True Alpha:

  • Pittman is reliable but not explosive, coming off an injury, and now 27.
  • Higgins’ situation in Cincy is solid, but he will always be the #2 behind Chase, even with his new contract.
  • Jameson Williams is an inconsistent boom/bust option whom Detroit could look to trade away in the not-too-distant future.
  • Mooney, while solid and with some upside heading into this year, is no more than a WR3/4 on a team with elite WRs.
  • Sutton and Jennings, while they both had very good years last season (and possibly will be solid again this year), are aging vets, and it could behoove this team to try to deal them.

This is a major concern for dynasty value. No true WR1, and limited youth or ceiling. This team will need a WR infusion soon.

Lack of Draft Capital Mentioned:
While this team does have all of its future draft picks (which is good), it would behoove them to try to acquire more and as many as possible. Following ASL founder Leonard LaPadula’s “How to win your dynasty league” article can help, and my recommendation would be to try to acquire double the number of picks that you have per round (for example, a 4-round rookie draft would be 8 picks minimum, 5-round draft = 10 picks, etc).

This will not only give a bit of an advantage when it comes to picks, but also gives flexibility to turn back around and potentially move some of those picks for players midseason, should this team find itself in contention (which is a definite possibility).

Win-Now vs. Rebuild Status:

Status: In Between → Soft Rebuild or Win-Now Pivot
This roster has enough firepower to compete for a playoff spot in 2025, but lacks true elite assets at WR and depends heavily on aging RBs. The competitive window is narrow and may only last one more year. If they start 2-2 or better, they can push all in. But if they fall to 1–3 or worse, it’s time to try to thread the needle by selling off older assets for a pick/younger player combo they can build around while trying to avoid a complete teardown.

Recommendations:

1. Shop RB Veterans Early:
Try to trade 1–2 of Kamara or Conner, now, while their value is still intact. Look for offers involving younger WRs or 2026 picks. Keep if the team starts well, but sell Conner or Kamara to RB-needy contenders if possible.

2. Consolidate WRs into One Alpha:
Package players like Mooney + Sutton or Jamo + Higgins for a younger WR1-type (think Brian Thomas, Drake London, or even a still young vet like Jaylen Waddle). This team is currently too deep with mid-tier guys and not enough top-end juice.

3. Hold and Start Njoku Weekly:
He’s a top-5 TE in TEP and a weekly advantage. Lock him in. Hold Loveland for the future — he’s a long-term solution here.

4. Monitor the QB Room:
Purdy is locked in. Goff has short-term value. Penix is a stash with the
possibility of being a stud later. If a team gets desperate midseason, flip Goff for a pick and/or a young WR.

5. Stay Active Midseason:
This team is kind of in limbo. If they start hot, push with a WR trade. If they fall off, sell veterans like Kamara, Conner, Mostert, and maybe even Goff or Njoku for draft capital.

Final Verdict: Transitioning Team

This is a classic case of a team that could go either direction in 2025. If the RBs stay healthy and WRs overperform, they will compete. But the cracks are visible, and planning for the future is crucial.

Dynasty Power Rating (1–10):
6.0 – Fringe Contender
Capable of a playoff push, but needs key players to stay healthy and/or outperform expectations to make a deep run. One more WR1 and a little luck could tip the scales.

Suggested Priority Moves:

  • Sell aging RBs for picks/young WRs
  • Package mid WRs for ascending alpha
  • Buy more 2026 & 2027 picks if possible
  • Hold TE and QB rooms steady
  • Monitor Sampson and Loveland closely
