Injuries, breakout performances, and unexpected twists shape the destiny of our teams. The waiver wire, our gateway to hidden gems, beckons with the promise of revitalizing our rosters. In this extensive guide, we will delve deep into the Week 10 waiver wire, uncovering prospects, analyzing matchups, and strategizing for success. Join me on this exhilarating journey through the uncharted territories of fantasy football. The waiver wire isn’t just a safety net; it’s a treasure trove of untapped potential. Every week, players emerge from the shadows to become fantasy heroes. Savvy managers recognize this and transform their teams by making informed decisions on the wire. Week 10 presents a new opportunity, a chance to secure the missing piece that could lead your team to glory.

Quarterbacks: Masters of the Gridiron

Quarterbacks are the linchpins of any fantasy roster, often the highest-scoring players on the team. Let’s explore two quarterbacks who could provide a significant boost to your fantasy lineup.

1. Joshua Dobbs (Minnesota Vikings)

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Joshua Dobbs has firmly placed himself on the fantasy radar after his Week 9 performance. Dobbs completed 20 of 30 passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns, including a game-winning throw against a solid Falcons defense. He also carried the ball seven times for 66 yards and a touchdown. To that end, Dobbs has slowly become a bit of a beloved player in the fantasy industry. Before his trade to Minnesota, he was also solid for the Arizona Cardinals.

While he does lack the ceiling of the elite fantasy quarterbacks, odds are good Dobbs will remain the starter for the rest of the season in Minnesota. When that happens, he is a player who can be streamed successfully. Astute managers in need of a second quarterback with some rushing capability should take a look at Dobbs.

2. Aidan O’Connell (Las Vegas Raiders)

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O’Connell had a modest outing on Sunday. He threw for 209 passing yards with zero touchdowns. While his performance wasn’t anything to write home about, O’Connell kept his team in the game and showed his skill. The rookie signal caller is scheduled to be the Raiders starter moving forward, and that should provide him with good scoring opportunities.

Managers in need of a quarterback for Week 10 may want to see if O’Connell is available in their respective leagues. He has some solid weapons at his disposal in DaVante Adams, Jakobi Meyers, and rookie Michael Meyer, which could lead to some fantasy spike weeks in the right matchup. He should continue to have a safe floor and has upside potential moving forward.

Running Backs: Ground Game Gladiators

Running backs are the workhorses of fantasy football, churning out consistent points. Let’s explore two running backs who are ready to make a splash in Week 10.

1. Keaton Mitchell (Baltimore Ravens)

Baltimore Ravens running back Keaton Mitchell exploded for 138 yards on nine attempts Sunday against the Seahawks. Before Week 9, Mitchell accumulated just two offensive snaps throughout the regular season. However, after this Week 9 performance, he is now on the fantasy radar. Gus Edwards is currently penciled in as the starter, with Justice Hill as the second option. With Mitchell’s performance this week, odds are he will start to supplant Hill as the second option and will slowly become the starter over time. Mitchell was placed on injured reserve, made his debut in Week 7, and was inactive in Week 8. However, he has now vaulted securely within the fantasy radar with his explosive production in Week 9. He should reside atop the list of waiver wire priorities at the running back position, as he has the potential to become a valuable resource for the rest of the year.

2. Devin Singletary (Houston Texans)

Houston Texans running back Devin Singletary first became a waiver wire option in Week 6 after he paced the Texans backfield in snaps and rushing yards. While Dameon Pierce has continued to be the starter for Houston, that narrative is slowly beginning to change. Pierce has become less effective as the year has gone on, and Singletary has begun to eat into his playing time. While his Week 9 performance against Tampa Bay on Sunday wasn’t anything to write home about, the entire Texans running game struggled.

Even though Pierce is scheduled to return from injury in Week 10, Singletary should still have a role moving forward. In most fantasy leagues, having a backup running back on a high-octane offense like the Texans is almost always a good idea. This situation is no different, and astute fantasy managers should take a look at Singletary should they be in need of help at the running back position.

Wide Receivers: Aerial Artisans

Wide receivers are the playmakers, capable of turning routine catches into spectacular touchdowns. Here are two wide-outs who are ready to light up the fantasy scoreboard in Week 10.

1. Tank Dell (Houston Texans)

For those of you who pay attention to our articles, this will be the third time this year we’ve recommended Dell. Back in our Waiver Wire articles for Weeks 4 & 8, we suggested you take a flier on the rookie wide receiver. Well…..depending on the league….now might be too late. However, should he still be available, here is another argument for picking him up immediately. Dell crushed souls in Week 9. In that game alone, he tied for the team lead with a 26% target share. All of the concerns surrounding his size and skill should no longer be considered.

His upcoming schedule includes a tough matchup in Week 10 against Cincinnati, but after that, he faces Arizona, Jacksonville, and Denver. These teams are atrocious against the pass, and Dell should be able to be a late-season fantasy difference maker. For the third time….GO…GET….HIM!

2. Demario Douglas (New England Patriots)

New England Patriots wide-out Demario Douglas looks like the Patriots leading receiver moving forward. In Week 9, he tied for the team lead in targets while leading the team in receiving yards. Over the last three weeks, Douglas has a 15.6% target share. While that’s not elite, it is definitely above average, showing that the Patriots will most likely continue to utilize his skills.

Additionally, after his Week 11 bye, Douglas’ schedule opens up a bit. He goes up against the Chargers & Steelers in Weeks 13 & 14, two teams who have been at best mediocre against the pass. Fantasy managers in need of receiving help should consider Douglas, as he has the potential to be a WR3 or better for the remainder of the fantasy season.

Tight Ends: Red Zone Guardians

Tight ends are the unsung heroes of fantasy football, often providing crucial points in the red zone. Here are two tight ends who could bolster your fantasy lineup in Week 10.

1. Hunter Henry (New England Patriots)

New England Patriots tight end Hunter Henry became quarterback Mac Jones’s go-to-guy in Week 9 with both Kendrick Bourne and DeVante Parker out with injuries. He tied for the team lead in targets and scored his first touchdown since Week 2. This bodes well for his usage moving forward, and in Week 10 the Patriots take on a Colts defense that has allowed 37 points or more in three of it’s last four games.

While he’s no Trey McBride, Henry is a worthy streaming candidate for the rest of the year. His bread-and-butter is catching touchdowns in the red-zone, so if fantasy managers are looking for a TE2, Henry passes that test with flying colors.

2. Cade Otton (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

Tampa Bay tight end Cade Otton is coming off his best game of the year. Even though most tight ends have destroyed the Texans this year, it was still a solid effort. Including his great performance in Week 9, Otton has had four games with at least six targets and has surpassed 40 receiving yards three times.

As the season has rolled along, Otton has become more involved in the Tampa offense. He should remain a streaming option moving forward, and one could do worse. Managers in need of a solid streamer can and should go get Cade.
