Fantasy owners who scooped up or have been holding onto New Orleans guard Elfrid Payton are going to have patience as the 2014 first round draft pick plays himself back into shape. He's had some very good games since his comeback, but there are bound to be a few clunkers.
 
Payton returned to action on New Years Eve in a win against the Minnesota Timberwolves. During his first three games back, he averaged 12.8 points and 5.8 assists shooting 50% from the field, including 40% from downtown until he his setback this week against the Cavaliers. He went 3 for 9 from the field finishing with just six points.

Assuming he stays healthy, Payton will find his way back into the top 75, so he worth holding onto to or adding if he's out their on your waiver wire. He is currently ranked as PG21 according to ESPN, 86th overall in the top 150. He is also trending “up” and has found himself within ear shot of players like D’Angelo Russell, Lou Williams, Derrick Rose, and Lonzo Ball. The difference? All of those players are owned in 86% of leagues, consider Payton as a great value pick going forward.
