The Machine – Fantasy Football 2012

Product Update 6/1/2012

======================================================================

Dear Fantasy Football Enthusiast,

Advanced Sports Logic, Inc. is committed to providing you with the highest quality products and to become your trusted partner for providing the tools you need for having a winning team year after year.  The Machine is the most capable team guidance product available today and supports a wide range of league configurations and rules. However, even The Machine has its limitations, so to avoid unsatisfactory results, please read this page carefully.

Minimum System Requirements

The Machine is compute-intensive. In order to get the maximum benefit of The Machine without impacting the performance of your system, it is best if your computer has dual-core CPUs with at least 2GB of memory. Also you should always open a separate web browser to run The Machine. For optimal performance your computer should be free of viruses and should be running at the intended performance levels when it was manufactured.

Runtime Examples Based on Features
Most features in The Machine will only take a matter of seconds or minutes; however, there are a few intensive tasks that can take a considerable amount of time. These features include:

  • Simulated Draft
  • Pre-draft Deep Trade Analysis (for Keepers and Draft Picks)
  • Trade Finder

If you do not have sufficient CPU and memory, your computer will seem sluggish if you use it for other activities while The Machine is running. If you would like to use The Machine for guidance on multiple leagues, consider running on a quad-core computer or on multiple computers during intensive tasks.

Adobe Flash Player Required

The Machine is an Adobe Flash Player-based application and requires that your system is upgraded to version 11 or greater. For a list of compatible browsers please click here.

Mobile System Requirements

Currently The Machine runs on android tablets and phones using The Machines beta app for MFL, RTFS, and ESPN leagues.  Yahoo and CBS leagues are not supported on mobile devices at this time.

IOS devices are not supported at this time, though we hope to add this functionality soon.

Supported League Provider Integrations

The Machine and Trade Judge automatically integrate with MyFantasyLeague ,RealTime Fantasy Sports, CBS Sports, ESPN, and Yahoo!.  Yahoo leagues require that you run a small program on your computer to maintain synchronization. You can use The Machine with other league providers without automatic system integration using manual mode.  In order to use The Machine with other league providers in manual mode, you will need to enter and maintain all league rules, configurations, and current roster information, manually through the League Setup pages.  Maintaining this information takes time each week, especially for keep rosters for all teams current and entering in weekly results.  We recommend that you only purchase The Machine for manual usage if you are willing to maintain this type of information.

Support League Rules and Configurations

The Machine has no specific limitations for maximum number of teams, divisions, roster size or starting lineup.  However, the greater the number of teams, roster size and starting line, the greater the number of computations.  In average leagues, we have not seen an issue running The Machine fast enough to support a 90-second draft.  However, if your league has 40 teams and a 28-player starting lineup requirement, The Machine will unlikely run fast enough to support a 90-second draft unless you have a high-powered system.

The Machine supports the following League Rules and Configurations:

  • Multi-header weeks
  • Winner or playoff seeding based on win percentage, fantasy points or victory points
  • Offensive Player Positions: quarterback, running back, wide receiver, tight end, punter, kicker
  • Defense and Special Teams: combined or separate
  • Individual Defensive Players: defensive tackle, defensive end, linebacker, corner back, safety
  • Team Players
  • Coach and Team Offense
  • Leagues where the same NFL player can be on multiple rosters
